Summerville Rovers 1 Fairview Rangers 3
HOLDERS Fairview Rgs made it a memorable week for the club when they advanced in the Lawson Cup with a 3-1 win over Summerville Rvs on Sunday.
On Monday night, the club captured the Tuohy Cup with a 2-1 win over Geraldines but the side showed no after effects to make it through to round three.
The Premier A side belied their lowly position as they held the Premier Leahgue leaders scoreless in the opening half.
A minute after the restart, Shane Duggan could have broken their resolve when he converted the opening goal from the penalty spot.
Summerville were not easily shunted however and five minutes later Shane Power scored to tie up the match at 1-1. Jeffery Judge restored Fairview’s lead just after the hour mark and it was only in the 85 th minute that the visitors could relax when Josh McCaarthy struck the third goal.

IN THE other Lawson Cup tie, Caherdavin hosted Prospect in an all-Premier A tie and it proved a very tight game.
The only goal of the game came fourteen minutes from time when Jamie Hogan struck to send Prospect into round three.

BALLYNANTY Rvs are the new leaders in the Premier League following their 2-0 win at Nenagh on Sunday morning.
With Fairview in cup action, Balla took advantage and now hold a two point advantage albeit with two games extra played. Vinny Ryan gave Balla the lead on the half hour mark with his 18 th goal of the season.
Ten minutes later Kane Connolly brought his tally for the season to double figures with Balla’s second goal.
Nenagh never gave up the fight but for all their efforts were unable to pierce a solid Balla’ backline.

AISLING recorded an easier than expected win over Regional on Saturday evening.
Goals from Adam Foley and Sean Ezekannagha gave Aisling a two goal lead in the opening half. Ten minutes after the restart, Sean O’hAodha made it 3-0 and Joel Coustrain tacked on another before Kieran O’Connell netted the Regional consolation goal.
Adam Foley moved to the top of the Premier League scoring charts when he grabbed a second to complete the scoring.

GERALDINES and Mungret played out an entertaining draw at the Garryowen Green.
Kian Barry gave the visitors the lead but Alan Keanme headed in the equaliser before half-time.
Leon Johnson scored from close range five minutes after the restart to tilt the tie in the ‘Dines favour.
However, with twenty minutes remaining, former Dines favourite Conor Madden headed in the equaliser for Mungret.

PIKE Rovers took the points on offer thanks to an impressive second half showing.
Scoreless at the break, Pike sprung out of the traps after the restart and Jack Croke opened the scoring within five minutes.
Dylan Murphy made it 2-0 minutes later and while Rubin McCarthy pulled one back for ‘Boro it was temporary relief as Kyle Duhig restored Pike’s two goal advantage. Robbie Williams tacked on a fourth to complete the scoring.

The Munster FA selection won the Interprovincial this weekend beating Ulster and Connaught and drawing with Leinster which means they will, once again, represent Ireland in the Regions Cup.
MEANWHILE, in the LDL Premier A League thing heated up further with the weekend results.
Star Rvs maintain their lead thanks to a 3-1 win over Aisling Annacotty B.
Cathal Howard claimed a double and Fellipe Torres also netted for the winners.
Kilmallock leapfrogged Moyross into second spot after the triumphed in the game between the two sides at Moyross. Barry Sheedy gave the visitors an early lead but Adrian Power tied up the game when he converted a spot kick
When the county side were reduced to ten men you felt Moyross would go on to take the spoils. However, Kilmallock held firm and took their chance when it arose, Barry Sheedy scoring a second with a free kick to seal three valuable points.
Newport returned to form with a 3-0 win over Carew Park. Callum O’Connell put Newport ahead while two late scores from Brian O’Sullivan made certain of the points.
Division A leaders Herbertstown continue on their merry way with a 5-1 win at Cappamore. Bradley McNamara and David Ryan claimed two apiece with Oisin O’Grady also obliging for the winners. Kieran Hanly replied for Cappamore.
Second-placed Murroe suffered a rare setback, going down 1-0 to Aisling Annacotty D. Darren Coughlan scored the only goal of the game.
Niall O’Riordan and Alex Burchill were on the mark for Holycross but they fell 3-2 to Corbally Utd B for whom Ethan Hannon (2) and Mark Hayes were scorers.
It was also a 3-2 result for Parkville at home to Pallas Utd. Darragh Hanley (2) and Luke Carmody were the winning marksmen; D Ryan-Gammell and Anthony McMahon replied for Pallas’.
The Division 1B Calvert Cup kicked off on Sunday with Ballynanty Rvs reaching the last four thanks to a 5-0 win away to Mungret B. Aaron Nunan 2, Ryan Earls, Jack O’Callaghan and Derek Daly were on target for the Blues who will play Pike.
Jonathan Lawlor scored the only goal of the game for Nenagh B at Kilfrush and they will play Kilmallock in the quarter finals after the Hoops beat Lisnagry 3-1. Dylan O’Connell (2) and Ciaran Collins netted for the winners; Lee Park replied for Lisnagry A.
Pat Kirby obliged for Patrickswell but they fell 4-1 in their game at home to Glenview Rvs for whom Cathal O’Neill (2), Conor McNamara and Sean Keane were on the mark.
One game in the 1B League and it was important at the foot of the table where Newport took three vital points in a 3-2 win at home to Croom Utd. Conor McHugo, James Kirk and Keith Mawdsley were the winning scorers. Ylli Sheu scored both for the visitors.
In Division 2A, leaders Hyde Rgs strengthened their grip on the lead with a 4-2 win at Lough Derg. Cian McAuley and Daniel Fogarty netted for the home side but a hat trick from Jamie McNamara and one from Evan Shine sufficed for Hyde.
Goals from Jorge Becker, Paulo Leite and Rafael Henrique helped Brazuca United to a 3-2 win over Coonagh Utd B for whom Jeff Ryan and Liam Kelly replied.
Castle Rvs and Moyross B drew 2-2. Thomas Power and Dean Quinn obliging for the latter while Abbey took the spoils in a 20-1 win at Meanus. James Houlihan scored for the home side, while Leonard Casey Plunkett’s double brought his total for the season to 30 goals.
The Division 2B Rea Cup also kicked off at the weekend with the top game pitting first v second. Fairview beat Mungret last week to go top of the table but Mungret got their revenge on Saturday when they won 2-1 to advance in the cup.
Veteran striker Danny Galvin scored another brace to seal the win. Oscar O’Donoghue replied for the Blues. A Nathaniel Zabatakis double saw Corbally Utd C past Murroe B for whom Alex Casey replied.
Josh Carey was on target for Geraldines B but they fell 4-1 to Holycross B courtesy of goals from Pa Finn 2, Cian O’Connell and Gavin Bracken.
Brinn Holmes also scored two for Prospect Priory B but they went down 3-2 to Caherdavin Celtic B.
In the league, Summerville Rvs B beat Dromore Celtic 2-0 with scores from Colin Dolan and E Tucker.
In Division 3A, leaders Murroe increased their lead to ten points and a point in their remaining games will guarantee them the title.
Shane Power scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Knockainey. Second-placed Athlunkard Villa C went down 2-1 to Balla C. Christian Kerley netted for Villa but goals from CJ Considine and Allan O’Sullivan won the points.
Callum Foley was on target for Lough Derg but Castle replied with three through Pat O’Connor, Colm O’Keeffe and Tom Bowers to take the spoils. Goals from Keith Colbert 2, Anton Moran 2, Calum Quinn and James McNamara helped Moyross C to a 6-1 win over Parkville for whom Jonathan Ryan replied.
In the Under 17 Premier League, goals from Liam O’Brien, M Humphries and Liam O’Brien saw Murroe take the points in a 3-1 win over Fairview Rgs with Jack Caulfield netting for the home side.
Two scores apiece for Danny Quirke and Dylan Browne saw Pike past Caherdavin Celtic on a 4-0 scoreline.
In Division One, leaders Charleville beat Corbally with scores from Darragh O’Leary and Luiz. Dion Phayer was on target for Aisling Annacotty B but they conceded twice to Newport through S Bridgeman and K Bars.
Lough Derg A hit Regional Utd for five courtesy of G O’Shaughnessy 2, G McWey, O Shanahan and O Siedel.
Division Two leaders Herbertstown eased to a win over a young Aisling Annacotty C side. Robbie Keogh, C McCaffery, Ryan McCarthy, Ben Corbett, Nic Saveljev, Ciaran O’Connor, L Doherty and D Mulcahy were the winning scorers.
Mike Koyce scored all five goals for Caherconlish in a 5-2 win over Lough Derg for whom M Jugowiec and P Ryan netted while C Connolly scored for Murroe in a 1-0 win at Summerville Rovers.
