LIMERICK manager John Kiely has praised the county's supporters as his side edged past Galway 2-27 to 0-31 after a nervy finish to secure a Division 1A Allianz Hurling League final place early next month.
Cathal O'Neill starred, scoring 1-6 from play for the Shannonsiders while Aaron Gillane added 1-4 as Limerick withstood a strong Galway rally in the second half to set up a Division 1A league final clash with arch rivals Cork.
Manager Kiely said that the enthusiastic home support in an attendance of over 12,000 at the TUS Gaelic Grounds helped his side over the line.
The Ennis Road venue will also host the league final when Cork come to town on Easter Sunday, April 5, throw-in is at 4pm.
The Division 1A decider is set to be part of a double header with the Division 1B decider between Clare and Dublin at 1.45pm.
