BREAKING: Rush hour traffic at a standstill in Limerick following collision

Long backlogs of traffic in the Corbally area

EMERGENCY services have responded to a serious collision near the Lidl store in Westbury shortly after 8am this Wednesday morning.

Gardai, Limerick Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics with the National Ambulance Service, have all responded to the scene.

It is understood the road is closed with traffic chaos in the surrounding areas as a result, this rush hour.

The number of vehicles involved, or injuries suffered by their occupants - if any, is not known at this time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.
