BREAKING: Man, 30s, dies in road traffic collision in Limerick

A LIMERICK family is in mourning this Thursday morning after a loved one perished in a tragic collision on Wednesday night.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Askeaton.

"The single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on the N69 at Cloonreask shortly before 8pm.

"The motorcycle driver, a man in his 30s, was later pronounced deceased at the scene," said a garda spokesperson.

His body has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

"The road remains closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators this morning. Local diversions are in place.

"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward," said a garda spokesperson.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N69 near Askeaton between 7.15pm and 8.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
