Road in Limerick reopens following serious collision between pedestrian and motorist

THE ROAD in Limerick where a serious road traffic collision occurred, between a pedestrian and motorist, has reopened.

The incident happened near the ESB substation on the main Limerick to Tipperary road, in the Ballysimon area, in the early hours of Wednesday, March 12. 

A man is being treated for serious injuries following the incident, where emergency services were alerted to the scene on the N24 at Miltown, near Killonan, at approximately 12:10am.

The pedestrian, a man, was transferred by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick (UHL) for treatment of serious injuries.

The female driver was conveyed to hospital as a precaution.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 11:30pm and 12:30am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
