Deaths in Limerick

The death has occurred of Gerard Kelly of Deel Manor, Askeaton.

Passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Predeceased by his parents. Gerard is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his beloved wife Patrice; their four sons, Conor, Jack, Fionn, and Ronin; his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces; parents-in-law Bill and Alice Hayes; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his warmth, generosity, and infectious sense of humour.

Reposing at Kieran Madigan's Funeral Home, Main Street, Askeaton V94 K598 Friday evening from 5.30 to 7pm. Cremation will take place at 12pm at Shannon Crematorium on Saturday.

House strictly private. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the Parkinson’s Association.

The death has occurred of Kate (Catherine) Larkin of Kilmoon, Lisdoonvarna, Clare and late of Moanrue, Newcastle West.

Kate passed away, peacefully, on September 12, 2024 at UHL.

Predeceased by her father Stephen and sister Nollaig. Deeply regretted by her partner Michael Judd, mother Bernie, brothers Michael, John, Stephen and Patrick, sisters Marina, Joanne, Bernie, Breda, Helen, Beth, Laura and Linda, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Reposing at Riedy’s Funeral Home, Newcastle West on Saturday, September 14 from 6pm until 8pm. Arriving at St Ita’s Church, Raheenagh on Sunday for the Funeral Mass at 12.30pm. Burial afterwards at Killeedy Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Tommy Doherty of Elton, Kilmallock.

Tommy passed away, peacefully, at Maria Goretti nursing home Kilmallock on September 11, 2024.

Predeceased by his sisters Chrissie, Janie, Kitty, Essie (Sr Winifred.)

Sadly missed by his loving brother Fr Paddy, nephews Canice, Damian and Jim Raleigh, niece Maria Corbett, grandnieces, grandnephews and great grandnephews, cousins, family relatives and friends.

Tommy will be reposing at Davern's Funeral Home Hospital, Co Limerick (V35XV96) this Friday, September 13 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Funeral cortége arriving at St Mary's church Knockainey on Saturday, September 14 for Requiem Mass at 10am, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pat) Ahern of Tullig South, Abbeyfeale.

Passed away, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at Killeline Nursing Home, Newcastle West, in his 92nd year and with his family by his side, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Predeceased by his brothers Michael and Liam, sister Kitty.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Pauline, sons Noel, Morty and Thomas (Matt), daughters Marie (Dalton), Carol (Fitzgerald) and Trish (Nolan), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, his fourteen grandchildren, great-grand-daughter, all his other relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Harnett’s Funeral Home, The Square, Abbeyfeale (V94 AK44) on Friday, September 13 from 5pm until 8pm.

Funeral cortège will depart Pat’s home on Saturday, September 14 at 10.15am on route to The Church of The Most Holy Trinity, Templeglantine to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11am.

The death has occurred of John Bond of Effin and formerly of Redditch, UK.

Passed away, peacefully, on Tuesday, September 10 at Mallow General Hospital.

Beloved husband to Winn, brother to Len, father to Kevin, Derek, Steve and Debbie, father-in-law to Paul, Lynne, Imelda and Tracey, grandad to Vicky, Adam, Christopher, Katie and Nicola and great grandad to Alvey and Ada.

John will be forever loved and remembered by his family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing this Sunday evening, September 15 at O'Malley's Funeral Home, Newline, Charleville (P56T184) from 6.30pm to 8pm. John's requiem Mass will be celebrated at 12pm on Monday, September 16 at Our Lady Queen Of Peace Church, Effin followed by a private cremation.

John's Requiem Mass will be live streamed with a link available on rip.ie shortly after.

The family would very much like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Mallow General Hospital for their excellent care and kindness and also to the careers who took great care of John prior to his hospital admission.

The death has occurred of Ann McCutcheon (née McMahon) of Castlebank, Ardnacrusha, Clare and late of Garryowen, Limerick and Kilkee, Clare.

Passed away, peacefully, on September 11, 2024 at the University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Harry (Joseph) and Elizabeth McMahon, also her brother Noel.

Sadly, missed by her loving husband John, daughter Karen, sons Owen and Roy, grand-daughters Lauren and Aoife, other relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home Gerald Griffin Street on Saturday, September 14 from 3pm to 5pm.

Funeral will arrive on Monday, September 16 at St Johns Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Mount St Oliver Cemetery.
