The Midwest Irish Grocers Benevolent Fund (I.G.B.F) celebrated another successful Gala Ball at the Castletroy Park Hotel, bringing together retailers, suppliers, and supporters from across the region for an evening dedicated to community and compassion.

The I.G.B.F, which provides confidential financial assistance to those in need within the grocery retail, wholesale, and logistics sectors, highlighted its ongoing impact — supporting more than 170 families nationwide.
Chairman James Johnson of Dunnes Stores welcomed guests and expressed gratitude to the many retailers and suppliers whose ongoing commitment strengthens the Fund’s work. The event also marked the introduction of the I.G.B.F President of Appeals for 2026, John O’Connor, Managing Director of Tayto Snacks, who outlined his goal to expand awareness of the charity among colleagues throughout the industry.
Special acknowledgement was given to key sponsors whose generosity helps make the event possible each year, including Shannon Airport Group, Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Tayto Snacks, Britvic, Irish Distillers, Comans, Heineken, and Unilever.
The night was widely praised as a wonderful success, blending celebration with a shared purpose — supporting those in the trade who need it most.
