Each Tidy Towns entrant receives funding through Pobal, with groups currently meeting to identify and progress projects focused on waste prevention and biodiversity enhancement.

In the coming weeks, the Limerick Going for Gold Environment and Climate Action Grant and Competition will be launched. Together with Pobal funding, these vital supports will have a visible sustainable impact across Limerick throughout the 2026 Tidy Towns campaign.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran said: “I wish all participating groups the very best of luck in the 2026 SuperValu Tidy Towns Competition and thank them for the positive impact they continue to make.”

Helen Kenneally, environmental awareness officer with Limerick Council, said: “The 2026 Tidy Towns seminar placed a strong focus on the practical supports available to assist the fantastic voluntary work being undertaken by communities across Limerick.”
