UPDATE: Limerick to Cork road reopens following head-on collision

THE N20 Limerick to Cork road has fully re-opened following an earlier collision.

A section of the road between Rourke’s Cross and Charleville had been closed to traffic following the head-on collision involving two vehicles in the townland of Creggane shortly before 11am this Sunday.

Gardai from the Bruff district and paramedics from the National Ambulance Service attended the scene of the crash along with crews from Kilmallock Fire Station.

It is understood the occupants of at least one of the vehicles have had to be cut out by fire crews but that no life-threatening injuries were sustained.

The scene of the collision has now been cleared and the road has fully reopened.

Gardai at Bruff are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
