CAHERDAVIN rapper Strange Boy has released his new single Immortal.

This is ahead of his new album Say Nothing.

One of the country's most distinctive contemporary voices, the Limerick artist is releasing the album in September.

The track Immortal, showcases Strange Boy's signature sound of bringing heartfelt lyrics together with cultural nuances and emotional depth.

Strange Boy's music is shaped by his experiences.

He draws on the streets of Limerick, the characters you could meet and the lived experience of his youth, for the stories behind his lyrics.

Strange Boy's music has been described as raw, unfiltered and local - a true reflection of the people and places that shaped him and his music.

“I'm incredibly grateful to have carved out a career in music.

“It's a blessing and I thank God and anyone who's ever supported me for all of it,” Strange Boy said.

He added: “Rap, to me, is just storytelling in a modern tongue - the same fire, different form.”

Strange Boy really believes in the power of culture and approaches rap as a modern seanchaí tradition. He likens it to a contemporary form of storytelling rooted in oral history.

Blending hip hop, spoken word, poetry, and Irish traditional music, he creates a sound which has been described as traditional Irish rap.

Strange Boy said that the new track Immortal is a deeply personal reflection.

Through the lyrics, he looked at wrestling with beliefs and the sense of self and how grateful he is for survival, perspective and the ability to transform experiences into art for others to take something from.
