BREAKING: Multiple collisions on Limerick motorway amid sleety conditions

THERE have been multiple collisions on a stretch of the M7 Limerick to Dublin motorway this Friday morning amid sleety conditions.

The road traffic incidents occurred between Junction 27 Birdhill and Junction 29 (N24) Ballysimon (near Annacotty) shortly before 7am. The incidents occurred in both directions with the M7 being completely closed for a period.

The M7 has since fully reopened for traffic heading to Dublin and to Limerick.

It is not known, at this time, if the occupants of the vehicles involved in the collisions have suffered any injuries.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution. A Status Yellow - Snow-Ice warning for  a number of counties including Limerick is in place until 9am. 

An Garda Siochana have been contacted for comment.
