The stretch of road on the R506 near Dromsally Cross, Cappamore is closed with local diversions in place
A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to University Hospital Cork with "serious injuries" following a collision in County Limerick this Thursday afternoon.
A garda spokesperson said gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the R506 road near Dromsally Cross, Cappamore.
"The collision occurred at approximately 2.35pm and involved a car and a motorbike.
"The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, has been taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries," said the garda spokesperson.

It is believed that both the motorcyclist and driver of the car are from the east Limerick area. It is understood the driver of the car did not suffer any injuries but was treated for shock at the scene.
"The road remains closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
"No further information is available at this time," said the garda spokesperson.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 2pm and 3pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
