RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Sunday, March 15

Deaths in Limerick: Tuesday, March 12, 2024

The death has occurred of Ruth Staunton (née Tiernan), Ballycummin Road, Raheen, and late of Ballyclough, Co. Limerick.

Unexpectedly but peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, on 13th March 2026.

Beloved wife of Jeremy, adoring mother to Dylan, Finn, Cian and Annabel, loving daughter of Maeve and Michael Tiernan and cherished sister of Mark, Hughie, Eoin, David, Kate and Ross. Sadly missed by her loving family, parents-in-law Willie and Anne Staunton, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at her parents' residence, Allandale, Ballyclough on Tuesday, 17th March from 3pm to 6pm. Funeral to arrive at St. Nessan's Church, Raheen, on Wednesday, 18th March for Requiem Mass at 1pm, followed by Burial at Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

Limerick Golf Club have kindly offered parking facilities on Tuesday for those attending the Reposal. (Eircode: V94 XT10).

Family flowers only please, House private on Wednesday.

The death has occurred of Bernard Meaney, Drombanna and late of Castleconnell, Co. Limerick (DELL, Verbatim and SPS) at the University Hospital, Limerick on March 13th surrounded by his loving family. 

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Meaney, his wife Anne (nee Hamilton), brothers Jimmy and Joe, sisters Mary (Allen) and Margaret (Whelan).

Rest in Peace.

Sadly missed by his daughters Eileen (Hoffler), Glenda (Shanahan), Sandra (Butler) and Annemarie (Ryan), grandchildren, Robert, Alexander, Sophie, Amy, Caitie, Thomas and James and great-grandson J.J., sons-in-law Barry, Timmy, Philip and Peter, brothers Donal and Gerard and sister Breda (Kelleher), brothers -in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, friends and Puddy the cat.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home Castleconnell on Wednesday 18th March from 5 to 7 p.m. with removal to St. Joseph’s Church Castleconnell. Requiem Mass on Thursday 19th at 11.30 a.m., which can be viewed on www.castleconnellparish.ie burial afterwards to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Castleconnell.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine (Katie) Hartnett, (nee Hurley), Amberley Road, Maida-Vale, London and formerly Ballyvolane, Bruff, Co.Limerick.

Suddenly on March 6th 2026.

Pre-deceased by her parents Ann & Mick and her brother Roger.

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving son Kevin, her brothers Mike, Paddy, Christy, John & Joe, her sisters Mary & Nancy (Guiney), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, kind neighbours and her many friends especially those in Maida-Vale.
