Sustainability will also be highlighted during the fashion show at Scoil Mhuire agus Íde Secondary School, Newcastle West with a special segment dedicated to fashion from local charity shops

An evening of style

SCOIL Mhuire agus Íde Secondary School, Newcastle West is set to host its much-anticipated annual transition year fashion show, promising an evening of style, entertainment, and community spirit for students, families, and members of the local community.

The event will take place in the school gym, on Thursday, March 19, where guests will be welcomed from 6.30pm with a cheese and wine reception before the fashion show begins. The evening is expected to be a vibrant celebration of creativity and fashion, bringing together students, teachers, and local businesses for a memorable night.

The runway will showcase a dazzling array of outfits inspired by the elegance and glamour of The Great Gatsby. Local boutiques will play a key role in the event, providing a variety of stunning looks for the show. Fashion pieces will be featured from well-known local businesses including All Seasons, G Boutique, Gatsbys, Kimono, Scanlons, Adrenaline, Joanna Anne Bridal, and Ber McNamara Designs.

Sustainability will also be highlighted during the show, with a special segment dedicated to fashion from local charity shops. This section will celebrate second-hand style and demonstrate how pre-loved clothing can be transformed into fashionable and creative looks. A 'Vinted' inspired section will also feature, reflecting the popular online platform used for exchanging and selling second-hand clothing.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the evening by a talented group of Transition Year students, who will perform a selection of popular songs for the audience.

There will also be plenty of excitement off the runway, with a raffle taking place on the night. Guests will have the chance to win a range of prizes including vouchers and hampers generously donated by local businesses.

Attendees will also be encouraged to dress up for the occasion, as the night will feature a Best Dressed competition, giving guests the opportunity to showcase their own style and be in with a chance of winning a special prize.
