PEOPLE who braved the cold weather were treated to a colourful and upbeat scenes in Limerick this Sunday.
Fifteen bands from Limerick, Ireland, Britain and the USA marched through the city streets as trhe International Band Championship returned for a 54th year.
Among those watching on were husband-and-wife Pauline and Patrick Bedford, from Pennywell Road.

Patrick said: "It's very good. As usual, it's up to a high standard and we are really enjoying it. I think the effort put into getting these major bands here is fantastic, and the response from the people is really positive. A lot of people on the street."
As for the inclement conditions, he added: "It's our weather - we'll live with it!"
Sorcha McEvoy travelled to the city from Parteen.
She said: "I'm having fun here with my family. I want to thank the organisers of this event."
Nine-year-old Nathan Aherne from Fairgreen was enjoying the event with his family.
"I'm most looking forwatrd to the music and seeing the bands. I'm very excited - it will be great to listen to the music!"
"Happy St Patrick's Day," he concluded.
