The death has occurred of Mortimer (Mort) O'Connor of Knockane Road, Newcastle West, Limerick.

Ex Limerick County Council and President of Newcastle West GAA.

Mort passed away, peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, March 27.

Very deeply regretted by his loving wife Winnie, sons John and Dan, daughters Carol, Fiona, Elaine and Úna, daughters-in-law Annette and Eileen, sons-in-law Mike and Joe, grandchildren Shane, Rachael, Declan, Claire, Danielle, Georgia, Micheál, Darragh, Ellie and Rob, and great-grandchildren Shane, Rían and Ollie, brothers Pat and Billy and sisters Mary and Helen, nieces and nephews, other relatives and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.

Special thanks to the many wonderful carers and special mention to devoted pets Rosie and Poppy.

Reposing at Riedy’s Funeral Home, Newcastle West on Friday, March 28 from 6pm to 8pm. Arriving at the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Newcastle West on Saturday, March 29 for Requiem Mass at 11.30am. Burial afterwards at Calvary Cemetery, Newcastle West.

Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

The death has occurred of Maura Quinn née Shields of The Deanery, Oakvale Court, Ennis Road, Limerick and formerly of Belfast.

Passed away, peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, March 27.

Predeceased by husband Joe and sister Pauline Hickey. Sadly missed by her loving sons Mark and Gary, daughter-in-law Nikki, brothers Kevin and Raymond, sister Geraldine, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, on Sunday, March 30, from 2pm to 4pm, followed by removal to Christ the King Church, Caherdavin. Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, March 31, at 12pm, followed by Service at 2pm in Shannon Crematorium.

The death has occurred of Michael Murphy of Bushypark Galway and formerly of Church Street, Dunmore, Galway, Quincy, Boston and Elsinore, Limerick.

Michael passed away, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at Galway Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, March 26. 

Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Margaret, daughter Gail, sons Michael and Tommy; his beloved granddaughters Hannah and Molly; his only grandson Alex; granddaughters Lauren and Ella; his two great grandchildren, sister-in-law Mary Stokes; and niece Dympna Murphy. Also sadly missed by his brothers Paddy (Boston), Sean (Limerick), Joe (Limerick), Gabriel (Boston) and Donal (Limerick); his sisters Patricia Kelly (Carlow) and Mary Killeen (Boston); his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and his many friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his father James, mother Nellie, sisters Eileen and Peggy, brothers Oliver and Dickie, brother-in-law Billy Feeney, and sister-in-law Irene.

Saturday, March 29, 2025- Reposing at the O' Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue Galway (H91 V1K8) on Saturday, March 29 from 9.30am with removal at 11 am to St James Church, Bushypark in advance of Requiem Mass therein at 11.30am. Following mass Michael will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.

No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to Galway Hospice.

The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed here.

We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We would appreciate privacy at our home.
