PEOPLE on the streets of Limerick city have spoken out on their thoughts on the fuel hike protests, March 8.
Speaking to the Limerick Leader, Tom said: “I fully support the protest and the blockages and everything connected to all that.”
A woman named Mairéad, took a different view. “One day would have been enough, and leave it at that then.”
Mairéad stated: “I don’t know if this is going to solve any problems.”
Róisín, a young working professional out enjoying a walk at Howley’s Quay with her mother, said “Fuel prices have gone through the roof.”
She agreed whole-heartedly with the actions taken by the protestors, saying: “I do think they’re right to take a stand, The way things have gone.”
On the topic of fuel, the woman said: “It’s costing an awful lot.”
Charud, who was in Limerick for the day, said working people need to be considered, as well as tourists. The man added that people’s bread and butter has to be the centre when discussing the protests.
While the outcome of the protests has yet to be known, one thing is for sure - the entire nation has an opinion on the price of fuel.
