The armoured vehicles pictured in Ballyneety
THE Defence Forces have clarified this Thursday morning why armoured vehicles have been spotted on the streets of Limerick.
According to a spokesperson for the Defence Forces, The 28th Infantry Battalion are on a training exercise ahead of a visit to Lebanon.

There has been a lot of speculation across Limerick city and county this Thursday morning after vehicles were spotted in Ballyneety and in Limerick city, Roxboro area.
There was also speculation online that they were going out to Foynes but according to the Defence Forces this is not the case.
The Defence Forces have said they are aware of images circulating of MOWAG Armoured Personnel Carriers in convoy.
"We can confirm that these are the personnel of the 128th Infantry Battalion conducting mission readiness exercises ahead of deployment to UNIFIL next month.
"Mission Readiness Exercises are critical activities to train and prepare our personnel for conducting duties in Southern Lebanon," stated the Defence Forces.
