GARDAI responded to a serious incident in a county town over the Easter bank holiday weekend, Limerick Live has learned.
Following a media query to the Garda Press Office, a garda spokesperson said officers in West Limerick received a report of an incident of a male with a weapon present at a location in Rathkeale.
It occurred on bank holiday Monday, April 6 at approximately 3pm in the afternoon.
“No injuries have been reported at this time. A male, aged in his 20s, was arrested. He has since been charged and was due to appear in front of Kilmallock District Court on Tuesday morning, April 7,” said the garda spokesperson.

Anybody who may have witnessed the incident, or has mobile phone or dash-cam footage, and can help gardai with their enquiries is asked to contact Newcastle West garda station on 069 20650.
The garda investigation is ongoing.
