A SPECIAL event in aid of Milford Care Centre is set to take place just in time for Christmas.

The Cuimhnigh for Cancer Coffee Morning will take place on Saturday, December 7, at 10am in The Hunt Café in the Hunt Museum.

Organised by Cuimhnigh ar Luimneach, a Limerick GAA supporters group, the coffee morning will feature a big raffle on the day.

Furthermore,  people will have the opportunity to get their hands on the Munster Hurling Championship trophy, the Mick Mackey Cup, which will be there on the day, as well as special guests.

“Our organising committee and especially our host, John Ryan, proprietor of The Hunt Café, deserve special thanks,” said Liam O’Brien on behalf of Cuimhnigh ar Luimneach.

“We have made connections with Limerick people all over the globe and have worked on several GAA-related projects, most notably, we published a book,  Illustrated Tales From The Limerick Terraces, which raised over €9,000 for Milford Hospice in 2022,” said Mr O’Brien.

What started in March 2020 and have grown to over 10,000 members since, Cuimhnigh ar Luimnigh has 12 administrators “keeping things running smoothly”.

“Last year, we followed up with 1973 - Keeping The Dream Alive, a book that made just under €25,000 which was shared evenly between Limerick Society of St. Vincent de Paul and The Children's Ark Paediatric Unit in UHL,” Mr O'Brien added.

This year, with the support of Limerick GAA, the group produced the Official Limerick 2025 Calendar, celebrating Limerick's 12 All Ireland senior hurling final wins.

The upcoming Cuimhnigh For Cancer coffee morning for the Milford Care Centre is the latest project to come directly from the group, with members Ryan McNamara, a TY student in Limerick CBS, Aideen Fitzpatrick and her daughter Molly, Niall Deegan, Sandra Allen and host John Ryan, proprietor of the Hunt Café, all organising it.

The upcoming Cuimhnigh For Cancer Coffee Morning is the latest charitable project by the group.
