Treaty United looking to bounce back as Wexford FC visit Garryowen

Treaty United will be looking to bounce back tonight when they welcome Wexford FC to Garryowen in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division.
Treaty currently sit ninth in the First Division table on 30 points with a win tonight vital if Treaty are to re-ignite their play-off hopes.
The last time the pair met was back in June, a 0-0 draw at Ferrycarrig Park. Treaty will be hoping to go one better this time and secure all three points in Garryowen.
Tommy Barrett’s charges will be looking to get back to winning ways following a 3-1 defeat to Kerry FC in Tralee last Friday.
Ronan Manning cancelled out Sean McGrath's spectacular opener with a glorious free kick midway through the second half but within six minutes of the equaliser, Treaty conceded twice and had been reduced to 10 after Darren Nwankwo picked up two yellow cards in as many minutes.
Just when it appeared the sides would go into the interval level, McGrath produced a moment of brilliance. Picking up possession in space, the Kerry forward danced past two challenges before curling an unstoppable effort into the top corner.
Parity finally arrived in the 64th minute. Manning stood over a free kick on the edge of the Kerry penalty area and produced a wonderful strike into the top corner, with O'Connor only able to get fingertips to the effort. However, the reprieve lasted just three minutes.
Substitute Ryan Perez restored Kerry's advantage with his first touch after coming off the bench, driving through the heart of the Treaty defence before firing a low effort beyond Brady.
The night then unravelled for Treaty as Nwankwo was dismissed after receiving two yellow cards in the space of little more than a minute. The first came for a heavy challenge on Murphy, before a second booking followed after an off-the-ball altercation involving the Kerry attacker.
Kerry almost immediately capitalised, but Murphy headed Bargary's excellent cross over the bar. With all the momentum behind them, Kerry found a third with a quarter hour to play as Niall Brookwell managed to poke home a scrappy inswinging corner that the Shannonsiders didn’t deal with as The Kingdom ensured of the three points.
The Super Blues will look to right the wrongs of last week’s results this Friday in Garryowen at 7.45pm. The clash will be broadcast live on LOITV.
Meanwhile, the Treaty United Women’s side got back to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bohemians at the Markets Field on Saturday afternoon in the SSE Airtricity League Women’s Premier Division, boosting their hopes of a top-three finish.
It took the home side just six minutes to hit the front, and they did so through American attacker Caroline Penner, who notched her third goal contribution in as many games.
The visitors almost drew level ten minutes after the restart as Sarah Power drilled a snapshot following an uncleared corner, but her low effort clipped the post before rolling wide of Katherine Hess’ goal.
Treaty almost grabbed a second late on. Lawlee delivered a lofted ball towards Sarah Rice at the back post, with Rachael Kelly failing to claim cleanly. The ball pinballed around the six-yard box before eventually flashing wide of the post.
There was little goal-mouth action to finish out proceedings with the hosts securing a vital three points.
Next up for Treaty is a trip to Eamon Deacy Park to face Galway United on Saturday September 5 at 5pm.
A win for Treaty could see them rise to fourth in the table, the clash will be broadcast live on LOITV.
