‘Wow! Wow! Wow!’: Limerick hurlers and partners celebrate ‘mighty wedding’ of Tom Morrissey and Elaine Dolan

The newlyweds were joined by family and friends for a reception at the idyllic Glasson Lakehouse resort on the shores of Lough Ree
FRIENDS of Limerick hurler Tom Morrissey and his wife Elaine Dolan have been left without a voice and with their “feet and body in bits” after celebrating what was described as “one of the best nights of everyone’s lives” at the couple's wedding over the weekend.
“Feet and body are in BITS guys but one of the best nights of everyone’s lives. 24.10.26 is a core memory forever. Congrats to two of the biggest legends, we love ye,” posted Laurie Flanagan, wife of former Limerick hurler, and GAA analyst Seamus Flanagan.
The couple were among a host of Limerick hurlers and their partners who joined Tom and Elaine for their big day on Saturday.
The six-time All-Ireland winner received dozens upon dozens of warm wishes after sharing a photo of himself and his bride toasting their nuptials on a sofa after officially becoming Mr and Mrs in County Westmeath.
The newlyweds were joined by family and friends for a reception at the idyllic Glasson Lakehouse resort on the shores of Lough Ree.

“Wow wow wow,” posted Limerick Gaelic footballer Meadhbh MacNamara, who is dating Limerick hurler Kyle Hayes.
The Kildimo-Pallaskenry clubman also shared a photo from the big day alongside fellow Limerick All-Ireland winners Darragh O’Donovan and Pat Ryan, both of Doon GAA.

“Obsessed” was how Dayna Slattery, partner of Limerick hurling captain Cian Lynch, described the playful photo of the newlyweds.

“Sooo gorgeous,” added Fionnuala Costelloe, who attended the celebrations with her partner, Limerick hurler Aidan O’Connor of Ballybrown.

“Congratulations on a mighty wedding. Have a wonderful future,” penned another friend.

“What a day! I still don't have a voice! Congratulations again guys! What a fab pair! ,” reads another comment.

Tom and his brother Dan have been central figures in Limerick's remarkable hurling success since 2018, when the county ended a 45-year wait for All-Ireland glory.

Both are widely admired for their smarts on and off the field of play.
Tom, 30, is a chartered accountant, chartered tax adviser and qualified financial adviser. He currently works as a senior financial planner with SYS.
He holds a Master's in Taxation from the University of Limerick, having previously graduated from UL with a degree in Business Studies, majoring in Accounting and Finance.
The wing-forward, who has six All-Ireland medals and three All-Star awards to his name, met Elaine, affectionately known as Lainey, on a night out.
Speaking to RSVP in 2024, Tom, from Castleconnell, revealed how the couple had been enjoying spending more time together after moving in together the previous year.
“It has been fantastic and it is a big stage in anyone’s life. It is great to see more of her now that she is living here in Limerick with me.
“She wouldn’t have had an interest in hurling before she met me. But hurling is a big part of my life, so it has now become a big part of her life as well. She is a big Limerick supporter now!”
Tom is the latest member of Limerick's senior hurling team to walk down the aisle in recent months.
William O'Donoghue married his long-time love Gemma Cowen in Cashel in September, while Gearóid Hegarty and his partner Niamh McCarthy tied the knot in Portugal in August.
