IT IS a busy start to the day for Limerick Fire Service and emergency personnel, as they responded to three separate collisions in the city this Tuesday morning.

The Mulgrave Street crew are at the scene of a triple vehicle collision on Ballysimon Road, a triple vehicle collision on the M7, and are at the scene of a double vehicle crash in Castletroy, all three occurring within an hour of each other.

As a result of the M7 crash, the motorway is closed northbound between between J30 Rosbrien and J29 Ballysimon as emergency services deal with two crashes in the area.

At 8.49am, Limerick Fire Service was alerted to the triple vehicle collision on the Ballysimon Road, and immediately dispatched three units to the scene.

No injuries have been reported in relation to this incident.

And it is understood that, at 9.15am, the same three units had to be dispatched to a separate crash on Plassey Park Road, in Milford Grange.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time, or how many people are involved in the incident.

And at 9.46am, four Fire Service units - one from Cappamore and three from Mulgrave Street - had to be dispatched to the crash on the M7. It is not known, yet, how many people are involved in the incident.

AA Roadwatch said: "The M7 northbound is closed between J30 Rosbrien and J29 Ballysimon as emergency services dealing with two separate crashes, one just before J29 and the second affecting traffic exiting onto the Ballysimon Rd. In Castletroy, Gardai are dealing with a crash on Plassey Park Rd at Milford Grange."
