BREAKING: Emergency service attend serious road traffic collision in County Limerick

EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision in County Limerick this Monday afternoon.

It occurred at the Cross of Knocklong on the R513 between Hospital and Knocklong at around noon.

Following a query from Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson confirmed gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and a truck near Knocklong.

“One person has been conveyed to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The road remains open at this time.

"As this is an ongoing incident no further information is available,” said a garda spokesperson.

Firefighters from Kilmallock and paramedics from the national ambulance service have also responded to the scene.

There are traffic delays due to the collision and motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.
