PICTURES: Poignant T-shirts with photo of Limerick mum Scarlett Faulkner worn at her reposal

The 29-year-old mum-of-one will be laid to rest on Friday

A LARGE attendance of mourners paid their respects at the reposal of mum-of-one of Scarlett Faulkner in Limerick city this Thursday afternoon.

A number of the those present wore poignant lilac coloured T-shirts with a photo of the late Scarlett on the front.

Her reposal took place in Cross’s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street. Scarlett will be laid to rest in Meelick Cemetery following funeral Mass at 11am in St Munchin’s Church on Friday.

An elaborate display of flower arrangements with many photos of Scarlett, at their centre, with her nearest and dearest was placed in the vicinity of the funeral home.

The mum-of-one from Longpavement, Limerick city, died on Monday - three weeks after sustaining serious head injuries in an assault on a roadside in Birdhill.

The decision was made on Sunday to take her off a life support machine in Cork University Hospital. Scarlett passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her loving family who had maintained a bedside vigil.
