Section of Sixmilebridge to Cratloe Road reopens after emergency repair works

Diversions in place due to closure of section of Clare road

The Sixmilebridge/Cratloe Rd (R462) remains closed at O’Gorman’s Cross until further notice for emergency works

A SECTION of the R462 road on the outskirts of Limerick has reopened after emergency repair works.

The R462 Sixmilebridge to Cratloe Road at Gormans Cross has reopened to traffic following the completion of emergency repair work to a damaged culvert, Clare County Council said this Thursday.

The culvert collapse occurred on Friday afternoon and work commenced on Monday to part reconstruct it. Survey work also took place in relation to the structural integrity of the stormwater network.

Diversions were in place while the works took place, but the road has now reopened to traffic.
