Dealing with bereavement at Christmas

The Living with Grief Bereavement Information Evening will take place in the Greenhills Hotel, Limerick

THE Limerick Bereavement Network (LBN) is set to host an evening for individuals and families navigating bereavement, grief and loss.

The Living with Grief Bereavement Information Evening will takes place on Tuesday at 7pm at the Greenhills Hotel, Limerick, and is open to all members of the Limerick community and beyond.

This free event provides a safe space for individuals to engage in meaningful conversations about bereavement, hear talks from professionals and members of the public with lived experience of grief, and learn more about the support services available in the greater Limerick area.

Whether you are grieving, or you support someone who is, this evening offers an opportunity to connect with others who understand the journey of loss.

The evening will be opened by Rebecca Lloyd, Chair of the Limerick Bereavement Network and End of Life Care Coordinator at University Hospital Limerick. Estelle McGinley, Senior Social Worker at Milford Care Centre, will then present on grief, loss and bereavement, followed by Seán Donal O'Shea, who will speak about his personal experience of loss.

Following the formal presentations, the evening will move to an informal panel discussion, taking questions and comments from those in attendance, as well as questions submitted in advance via the Eventbrite link. The panel will include LBN members and Seán Donal O'Shea.

This event is ideal for anyone who lives, works or studies in Limerick and has experienced the loss of a loved one. Professionals and community members who support bereaved individuals are also warmly welcomed. We hope that those who attend will leave with practical insights into coping with loss and finding meaningful support networks.

"Grief can be one of the most isolating and deeply personal experiences we go through — it can feel as though no one else could possibly understand what we are carrying. But you are not alone. There are many wonderful organisations and people ready to support you or point you in the right direction. This evening is about coming together, because there is real power
in that connection. When we share our experiences and reach out to one another, the weight of loss becomes a little easier to bear. I warmly invite you to join us," said Rebecca Lloyd, Chair, Limerick Bereavement Network

All are welcome. Please reserve your free place for the bereavement evening here.
