Road closed after triple vehicle collision in Limerick city

EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a triple-vehicle collision on the outskirts of Limerick city this Wednesday evening. 

The incident, involving three cars, occurred on the Ballysimon Road at the junction near the M20 motorway. 

Limerick Fire Service was alerted to the incident at 3.48pm and dispatched three units to the scene. 

According to AA Roadwatch, the Ballysimon Road has been closed off. 

"The Ballysimon Rd is closed at the M7 flyover as emergency services deal with a collision. Outbound traffic is slow on approach," it said. 

It is not known how many people are involved in the incident and the extent of injuries, if any. 

Emergency services remain at the scene.
