Tolls for users of the Limerick Tunnel are set to in increase by 20c from January 1, 2024
TOLLS on several primary routes across the country, including the Limerick Tunnel, will increase from next month with higher rates taking effect from January 1, 2024, it has been confirmed.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland says the increases, which were announced this Tuesday, are based the increase in the annual rate of inflation at the end of August - 6.3%.
The cost of travelling through the Limerick Tunnel will increase by 20cent per journey for cars and by between 20cent and 50cent for larger vehicles.
Tolls on the N7, Limerick to Dublin motorway will also increase from January as will the cost of using the M50.
A statement, posted on the TII website, said: "Following the application of the relevant CPI inflation figure for August 2022 to August 2023 of 6.3%, the toll rates chargeable across the eight PPP and two TII toll roads on the National Road Network will increase from January 1, 2024.
"The Board of TII approved these increases in tolls for 2024, in October 2023, for Dublin Tunnel and the M50 and confirmed their agreement to increase tolls for eight PPP Toll Concession schemes."
