WATCH: Limerick manager John Kiely dissects impressive National Hurling League win over Cork

Limerick boosted their hopes of reaching the Division 1 Allianz Hurling League final after defeating 'the Rebels' 3-19 to 0-20 at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday evening

LIMERICK boosted their hopes of reaching the Division 1 Allianz Hurling League final after defeating Cork 3-19 to 0-20 at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday evening.

Limerick secured their fourth win on the bounce in Division 1A of the competition in front of 18,744 spectators at the Ennis Road venue.

John Kiely's Limerick side complete their programme of Division 1A fixtures with another home game against Galway back at the TUS Gaelic Grounds in two weeks' time.

Limerick had goals from Shane O'Brien early in the opening half, while Cathal O’Neill and Aidan O’Connor riased green flags in the second period as the Shannonsiders ended Cork's unbeaten run in the group stages.

There is a distinct possibility that Limerick and Cork could meet in the Allianz Hurling League Division 1 final at the start of next month, depending on the results of their final group games.
