A MAN has been arrested following an incident on a busy Limerick motorway which led to significant traffic delays.
Emergency s services responded to reports of a vehicle in a ditch on the M20 Limerick-Cork motorway on Monday evening, Limerick Live has learned.
A garda spokesperson confirmed officers attended at the scene of a two car collision on the M20 at Rosbrien, Limerick shortly after 7pm on Monday.
A number of units from Limerick Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.
The garda spokesperson said: "One of the motorists involved, a male in his 40s, was arrested at the scene under the Road Traffic Acts.
"He has since been charged in connection with the incident to appear before Limerick District Court later this month. An investigation into the collision is ongoing."
There was no reports of any injuries sustained in the collision. There were reports of traffic delays while the incident was being dealt with and the damaged vehicles removed.
