Man arrested following collision on Limerick to Cork road

Long tailbacks due to the collision near Banogue on Sunday night

A MAN has been arrested following a road traffic collision in County Limerick on Sunday night.

Gardaí, firefighters and ambulance paramedics attending the scene of a two vehicle road traffic incident on the N20 near Banogue at around 8.30pm.

A garda spokesperson said: "A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene. Investigations are ongoing."

A woman, aged in her 50s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick as a precaution.

There was long tailbacks due to the incident, which occurred on the Cork side of Banogue, with fears that those involved suffered serious injuries as both vehicles were badly damaged.
