SEVERAL parishes in across Limerick are switching their Mass times to afford all an opportunity watch the All-Ireland hurling semi-final on Saturday.
‘Mass’ support will be coming from every corner of Limerick for the boys in green for their game against Galway.
Kilfinane, Kilmallock, Glenroe, and Ardpatrick parishes are among those moving their Saturday Mass to 5pm to allow church goers to enjoy the Limerick and Galway semi-final.
Fr Michael O’Shea of Kilfinane parish was more than happy to move the mass to watch the game, telling the Limerick Leader: “sure isn’t it the greatest sport of all time”.
Fr Michael told the Limerick Leader that they’ll be praying in particular for parishioners Nickie Quaid and Graeme Mulcahy, who according to him have been making them proud in their games up until now.
The south Limerick parish priest will make sure he wears his green vestments on Saturday. “They’re a super team, we’re proud of them and we wish them the best of luck” added Fr Michael, convinced that Limerick’s chances of losing are slim to ‘nun’.
The Limerick and Galway in the All-Ireland hurling semi-final in Croke Park on Saturday has throw-in of 6pm and is live on RTE2 television.
