Motorists warned of 'treacherous' driving conditions in County Limerick

Limerick City and County Council have advised motorists to take care on the roads on Friday and allow more time for your journey

A TRAVEL warning has been issued for west Limerick by Limerick City and County Council this morning due to 'treacherous' driving conditions.

The council have advised motorists to take care on the roads on Friday and allow more time for your journey. Dangerous conditions are present due to low temperatures.

One motorist who was driving in west Limerick this morning said: "I didn't expect it to be so bad this morning."

"There's a thick blanket of ice and light dusting of snow. I had to be extremely careful as I felt the wheels skidding a bit as the roads are treacherous."

Pedestrians:

Footpaths may be icy and slippery. Wear proper footwear and stay visible.

Take extra care and allow more time for your journey.
