A BABY was rescued from a burning building by their brave grandparents this Friday, Limerick Live has learned.
The couple put their own lives on the line to save the infant from the house fire in a rural part of Ballysimon. The baby is just a couple of months old.
Limerick Fire and Rescue Service received the call-out at 11am with three appliances from the city and one from Cappamore rushing to the scene.
It is understood that upon arrival the fire was well-established but the grandparents had rescued the baby from the burning building and got it to safety. It is believed that the grandparents have suffered burn injuries.
