Funeral details for much-loved Limerick auctioneer announced

Auctioneer Geraldine Leddin sadly passed away on Thursday

WELL-KNOWN Limerick auctioneer Geraldine Leddin will be laid to rest after her funeral Mass on Monday.

Warm tributes have been paid to the businesswoman and mother-of-four, who passed away following illness, with Cllr Daniel Butler remembering her as a “trailblazer” and a “visionary” who built a “thriving enterprise in an industry where few women dared to venture, let alone succeed with such grace and determination.”

She will repose on Sunday night at her home in Raheen (Eircode V94 TKD4), from 4pm, with evening prayers taking place at 8pm.

Her funeral Mass will take place on Monday morning at 11.30am in St Joseph’s Church at O’Connell Avenue in the city centre.

It’s just a stone’s throw from her auctioneeering firm in O’Connell Street.

And she will be buried immediately afterwards in her native Meanus.

Her family are asking donations be made in lieu of flowers to Milford Care Centre, where she passed away on Thursday last.

Daughter of the late William and Kathleen Hogan, and sister of the late Liam, she is very deeply regretted by her sorrowing partner MJ Caffrey, her loving family Barry, John, Bryan and Sarah and their father John.

Sadly missed by her daughters in law Hazel, Sparkle and Cathriona, her adoring grandchildren Katelyn, Rebecca, Daniel, Ruby, Oona, Liam, Huey and Sophia. Sister in law Bridie, her extended family, the staff at GL Auctioneers Ltd, Carol and Aoife.

Geraldine is also mourned by her circle of friends, colleagues and neighbours.

May she rest in peace.
