THE day is almost here. After all the anticipation, the sold out Easter Sunday showdown between Limerick and Cork is getting closer.

Almost 45,000 will descend on the TUS Gaelic Grounds as these two rivals renew their rivalry.

With the prospect of further big games between the pair in the coming months, this is one not to be missed.

What time is throw-in?

The big match gets underway at 4pm. The curtain-raiser, the Division 1B final between Clare and Dublin, commences at 1.45

Is it on TV?

Yes, both the Limerick-Cork game and the curtain-raiser are live on TG4. Their coverage gets underway at 1.15 with the build-up to the main event starting around 3.30pm.

Who is the referee?

Shane Hynes of Galway is the man in the middle on Sunday.

What happened last time?

In the group stage of the competition, Limerick were 3-19 to 0-20 winners over the Leesiders at the TUS Gaelic Grounds. Aidan O’Connor, Cathal O’Neill and Shane O’Brien got the goals for Kiely's men.

Is there extra-time?

Yes, this match is played under the 'result on the day' guidelines so if level, there will be extra-time. If the sides still can't be separated, then it will be another penalty shootout between these counties.

How many times have Limerick won a league title?

Limerick have won the league 14 times in the competition's history. Victory on Sunday will put John Kiely's side level with the 'Rebels' in third spot in the all-time roll of honour. Kilkenny and Tipperary both have 19 titles each.

What happens next?

While both teams will insist they are taking it one day at a time, Munster Championship is just around the corner. Limerick travel to Cork in their opener on April 26, while the 'Rebels' commence their campaign seven days earlier against Tipperary.
