Hazelwood College, Dromcollogher, recently hosted a vibrant and inspiring art exhibition showcasing the exceptional talent of its students. The event brought together parents, students and members of the wider school community to celebrate their artistic achievements.

The exhibition featured an impressive range of work across a variety of media, reflecting the diversity of practices explored within the school’s art department. The standard of work on display was exceptionally high, with students demonstrating strong technical skill and a clear sense of individuality.
The evening also celebrated young artists from local primary schools, whose work was exhibited alongside that of Hazelwood College students. Prizes were awarded to both primary and secondary school students who have excelled in the arts, recognising their dedication and talent.
Art teacher Ms Corkery addressed those in attendance, speaking about the importance of art education, creativity and original thought, and highlighting the value of bringing ideas from concept to realisation—particularly significant in an age of artificial intelligence. Parents were warmly thanked for their continued support and encouragement of the arts, with the students’ work standing as a credit to their families.
Sincere thanks were extended to Pat O’Hara for capturing the event through photography. Overall, the exhibition was a wonderful celebration of creativity, community and the importance of the arts in education.
