LIMERICK will look to get their Electric Ireland Munster MHC off the mark when they travel to Ennis on Saturday.

In their Championship opener at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Friday night, they fell to a three-point defeat to a Waterford side inspired by Dylan Murphy and Ryan Molumphy - the 2025 All-Ireland MHC winning panelists combining for 0-11 from play.

"The lads had prepared well but we just didn't perform to the level we wanted to," said manager Diarmuid Mullins. "We came up against a good side as well."

A Gavin O'Brien goal on the stroke of half time meant the sides were level 1-8 to 0-11 at the interval. However, despite some guilt-edged chances, the 'Treaty' failed to get a crucial second goal - the only second half green flag raised by Cian Delaney.

"We had chances, we just needed to get a goal to bring us back into the game when they went four or five points ahead. We had good chances.

"We can't change what happened tonight, we can change what happens the next day when we play Clare and our number one priority is to improve in certain areas."
