TREATY United leapfrogged Galway United into fourth place in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division table after a 2-1 win in their head-to-head at the Markets Field on Saturday.

The result extended in-form Treaty United's unbeaten run in all competitions to six games.

In team news ahead of kick-off, Treaty manager Sean Russell brought Madison McGuane, Kate Jones and Ciara Breslin into the starting XI.

Before kick-off, Treaty United captain Jillian O'Toole and Galway United's Lynsey McKey laid down a wreath at the Markets Field in remembrance of the late Ollie Horgan, Galway United's assistant manager, who died on Thursday.

When the game got underway, a Jillian O'Toole own goal gave visitors Galway a lead ten minutes before half-time but the prolific Bella Flocchini levelled for Treaty on 57 minutes. It was goal number 13 for the prolific Flocchini in Treaty United colours.

Teenager Madison McGuane ensured all three points would remain in Limerick after netting the winner 11 minutes from time. Treaty have won four and drawn one of their last five Women's League fixtures.

Treaty United are now level on points with third-placed Wexford FC. Next up for Treaty is a trip to The Showgrounds to face Sligo Rovers on Saturday, 3pm.
