A TEENAGER has been arrested this Thursday in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in County Limerick which claimed the life of nurse Áine O'Reilly.
Ms O'Reilly, aged 33, of Grove House, Pallasgreen was killed on the N24 near Grange West, Boher on February 13 while travelling to work to care for others overnight. The three-car collision occurred shortly after 11pm.
Ms O’Reilly was pronounced deceased at the scene while another driver, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries.
A garda spokesperson said, in an update this Thursday morning, that officers continue to investigate the fatal road traffic collision.
"Today, Thursday, March 19, gardaí arrested an adult male, aged in his late teens, in connection with this investigation.
"He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a garda station in the Limerick Division. Investigations are ongoing," said a garda spokesperson.
