The Heineken Champions Cup trophy at St James' Park
MUNSTER will face either Saracens or Glasgow Warriors in the semi-finals of the Heineken Champions Cup, should they overcome Edinburgh in the quarter-finals at the end of March.
It was confirmed this Sunday that Pool 2 winners Munster will travel to Murrayfield for a Champions Cup quarter-final clash with PRO14 rivals Edinburgh on the weekend of March 29-31.
It has also been confirmed that if Saracens (ranked No 1) beat Glasgow in their quarter-final and Munster (ranked No 5) win their quarter-final against Edinburgh, Saracens will have home country advantage for any semi-final clash with Johann van Graan’s side.
However, if Munster (ranked No 5) and Glasgow Warriors (ranked No 8) win their quarter-finals, Munster will have home country advantage for any semi-final showdown.
The winner of the all-Irish Champions Cup quarter-final featuring Leinster and Ulster will face French opposition, either Racing 92 or Toulouse in the semi-finals.
If Racing 92 (ranked No 2) and Leinster Rugby (ranked No 3) win their quarter-finals, Racing 92 will have home country advantage
If Racing 92 (ranked No 2) and Ulster Rugby (ranked No 6) win their quarter-finals, Racing 92 will have home country advantage
If Leinster Rugby (ranked No 3) and Toulouse (ranked No 7) win their quarter-finals, Leinster will have home country advantage
If Ulster Rugby (ranked No 6) and Toulouse (ranked No 7) win their quarter-finals, Ulster will have home country advantage
The semi-finals are due to be played on the weekend of April 19-21.
