During the first half of this season, schools from throughout the province played in a round-robin format in two groups in both competitions to determine their seeding for the knockout stages which begin next week.

For the Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup, Hamilton High School Bandon beat Colaiste Choilm Ballincollig in the Senior Cup qualifier.

They will now line out, for the very first time, against St Munchin’s College in Thomond Park for Round 1 of the knockout stages. The winner will go on to play Ardscoil Rís in Round 2.

In the other first round game, Bandon Grammar School will meet Glenstal Abbey in Virgin Media Park with the winner going on to face 2015 winners Rockwell College in Fethard Town Park.
