Car torched in early morning arson attack in Limerick housing estate

GARDAI have launched an investigation after a car was set alight in a housing estate in Limerick city this Monday morning.

The arson attack occurred around 6am in the St Mary's Park area. There are no reports of any injuries.

Limerick Fire and Rescue Service were called to respond with firefighters quickly putting out the blaze.

Following a media query from Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson confirmed officers are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire of a car in St Mary’s Park, Limerick earlier this Monday morning, January 19.

"Enquiries are ongoing," said a garda spokesperson.

Witnesses who may be able to assist gardai with their enquiries are asked to contact Henry Street garda station on 061 212400.
