LIMERICK club Bruff RFC has recently launched a drive which would see the club field an U20 rugby side once again from next season.

Bruff RFC has a proud history at U20s level, winning All-Ireland title at this level in the past, as well as finishing as runners-up.

Many of the players involved in those successful sides went on to enjoy success with Bruff at senior level in the All-Ireland League and Munster Senior Cup and Bateman Cup.

Bruff RFC say that the fact that many players have gone threw the club's U20s system has allowed them to have three and up to four adult teams competing in not too distant past. The club is keen to promote rugby in an even greater way in their area.

Bruff underage structure has kept on growing and improving over the years and successfully compete in all age groups up to 18.5 level.

Bruff has been finding it more difficult to bridge the gap from U18 rugby to adult level. This resulted to the demise of the club's U20s over the years and for the first time in a long time this season Bruff didn’t compete at U20 level.

Currently, the club has great numbers at U18.5 and interest is good within the group in playing rugby. To cater for this potential the club has put in place a good selection of coaches and management to help drive it on. The club is looking to create something which will help the Kilballyowen side push on in the years ahead.

Coaches:
Peter Malone; Garry Leonard; Eoin Cahill; Gearoid Ryan; Manager: Trevor Casey.
