TRAVEL ALERT: Irish warned as two Middle East countries flagged for 'High degree of caution'

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland has listed two Middle Eastern countries with security stats of "high degree of caution."

The status updates were made on the 23rd of June 2025, with ongoing tensions and attacks going on in the Middle East.

The two countries in question are the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

In the case of the warning for the UAE the travel alert notes that "Airport disruptions are anticipated. Please contact your airline for relevant updates prior to travel." And "The Embassy of Ireland, Abu Dhabi is closely monitoring the current regional situation and advises that Irish citizens exercise heightened caution. Please follow the instructions of local authorities."

For Qatar the warning reads as follows:

"We continue to monitor ongoing regional tensions. Please exercise caution, monitor local and international media, follow the advice of local authorities, and observe any additional security measures imposed during this time."

In the case of Qatar the warning also notes that "there is no Irish Embassy in Qatar, we are limited in the help we can offer you in an emergency. However, if assistance is required, please contact the Irish Embassy in Abu Dhabi."
