The operation was led by gardai from Henry Street station
Gardai have seized thousands of euros worth of heroin and crack cocaine following a search operation in Limerick city.
The illegal substances, with an estimated street value of €20,650 were recovered on Thursday as part of a major operation targeting their sale and supply.
Local gardai supported by members of the Regional Armed Support Unit executed search warrants at five properties which are located in the King’s Island area.
During the course of the searches, heroin to the value of €10,500 and crack cocaine to the value of €10,150 was seized along with €1,300 cash.
All of the drugs seized will be sent for examination by Forensic Science Ireland.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Gardai say the seizures were part of Operation Feabhsaigh which is being directed by Superintendent Andrew Lacey of Henry Street garda station.
Its key priorities are targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the King's Island area of Limerick
On top of this, it aims to stamp out open drug use, chronic anti-social behaviour, aggressive begging and general crime in the local community.
