Gardaí arrest two horse-drawn carriage operators for 'intoxicated driving'

Gardaí have arrested two horse-drawn carriage operators for 'intoxicated driving'.

The inspections of the carriages by gardaí took place in Dublin city.

During the inspections, gardaí detected two operators who were intoxicated and they were subsequently arrested.

Gardaí from Kevin Street and Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) Roads Policing Unit conducted the inspections in collaboration with Dublin City Council's Animal Welfare & Veterinary Inspectors and Revenue officers.

In addition to the intoxicated driving arrests, a number of other cases were flagged for follow-up by Revenue officers.
