Limerick gardai have arrested a suspected drink-driver who was disqualified from driving and wanted by the authorities.

The arrest was made after a dark-coloured car was stopped by members of the divisional traffic corps in a bus lane on the Dublin Road.

“Limerick Roads Policing stop driver in bus lane, established he was disqualified, drunk and arrest warrants out for him,” stated a tweet which was posted on social media this Tuesday evening.

A photograph posted online indicates the detection was made as the suspect was travelling on the inbound lane towards Groody Roundabout.

In addition to being prosecuted, the man will have to be brought before the court which issued the arrest warrants as soon as possible.
