University of Limerick has celebrated a landmark moment by conferring postgraduate degrees on the largest group of Irish Travellers to graduate from an Irish university. Today 13 Irish Travellers/Mincéirí were conferred with a Master’s or Graduate Diploma in Sociology (Youth, Community and Social Regeneration) at UL.
A total of 2,038 students, including 78 PhDs, will graduate from University of Limerick this week as part of the Winter Conferring Ceremonies. Students from the faculties of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Kemmy Business School, Science and Engineering, and Education and Health Sciences, along with a cohort of more than 50 Garda College graduates will be conferred.
